Vantage Point an Awesome Adrenaline Movie to Watch on DVD Despite Plotholes

I'm constantly amazed at how truly entertaining movies with no redeeming social value always seem to get lousy newspaper reviews while artsy fartsy movies like "No Country for Old Men" get great reviews despite having what I consider the worst 15 minute ending in the history of film. "Vantage Point" is the exact opposite of a chick flick, it's the kind of movie guys who like an adrenaline energy rush, love and cool, hip women,enjoy. I'm assuming an uptight woman probably would hate this kind of movie even though there is no sex or sexual exploitation in it. Oh well, you can't have everything!

I go to a movie for one reason and one reason only, to be entertained. I don't go to a movie to think and use my mind. If you liked "Point Break" with Keanu Reeves and "Crank" with Jason Statham, you'll love "Vantage Point".

"Vantage Point" basically tells the story of an assassination of a U.S. President in a foreign country as seen through the eyes and actions of the characters that were at the scene of the assassination: The President (William Hurt), the Secret Service Agent (Dennis Quaid), the Head Secret Service Agent (Matthew Fox), the tourist (Forest Whitaker) and the members of the assassination team. The majority of the movie revolves around flashbacks of each of these characters that all took place at the same time but reveal new details and answers unfolding. Each flashback doesn't repeat most of what happened in the other flashbacks. My sole criticism of the flashbacks is that they are used one too many times and the last one seemed like a anti-climatic annoyance that you knew was coming. After that, the movie resorts to real time again.

As I said, I really enjoyed the movie as I found it 90 minutes of non-stop entertainment. I did note a lot of plotholes which I won't get into here as I don't want to spoil the movie for you. In short I would give this move a solid B+ as I found it quite entertaining, fast paced and unpredictable like a roller coaster ride. If you watch a movie for redeeming social value and to think, this movie is not for you.

I bought this as a replacement for the pretty much same watch that lasted 20 yrs. I originally bought it for a diving watch, ( a 2nd timing device) as it can go 3x deeper than a human can. I would put it in a drawer after a dive trip, pull it out 6 mo. later to go again, and it never lost a second. I especially used the chrono function on when diving. I have a beautiful Rolex, however, I have developed a huge cyst on my watch hand, and the Rolex weighs a ton, and it hurt. So I brought out my 'old' Timex and began wearing it every day. Well it finally broke, but for a buck watch, to say I got my money's worth would be a wild understatement.

To repeat the old commercial, this watch `can 'take a lickin' and keep on ticken'.... I especially like this particular model due to the velcro strap, no buckle, which, with arthritis, are sometimes hard for me to handle.

The chronograph is especially handy for timing your steaks if you can stand right by the grill the whole time.

The watch is very nice looking. It really turns heads. It suites best with a suit or a classy shirt. The only problem I found is his movement. It's automatic self-wind so... I couldn't leave it for 2 days off my hand.... or it gets behind. I guess the mechanic spring must be loaded for it to work perfectly. I'll give it 5 stars because if you wear it it runs smoothly.

I just got this in the mail. First of all, it comes in a huge, fancy, black faux leather case. This is the most beautiful watch I've ever seen by far. It's simply gorgeous. The photos really do not do it justice. You cannot appreciate the exquisite beauty of this watch until you have it in front of you. It's like a marvelous piece of jewelry made by a wizard. It's like a precious magical antique from a fantasy world. I love the rose-gold color. It looks similar to copper. The wrist band is beautiful, but it was rather stiff and a little difficult to put on. But it's OK. I love that this watch has no markings. It doesn't even have any words on the glass. I've seen a lot of skeleton watches using this same movement, but I think this is the best one of them all. This is my first watch without any hour markings on the dial. The time is easier to tell than I thought it would be. The lack of printed words and markings enhances the beauty of the watch. I think this watch looks even more expensive than it is. It really looks fine. I've read a few people disparage the movement for being made in China, but really it looks like it could've been crafted in a fine old European watch shop.

I managed to scoop up this watch for a ridiculous price of for a one-hour sale. THis is an automatic watch, so that means thatthe scond needle has a sweeping motion, like many high end watches. This watch got me out of two sticky situations, where I was confronted with one male and one gorgeous female, and ther was nothing to talk about as it was an awkward moment, but this watch saved the day when it appeared for a breif moment when my hand reached out to press the "door close" button on the elevator. Immidiatly it became the topic of conversation, and now three people in the elevator were looking at the internals of the watch (which ARE awesome, mind you).


Sadly, you cannot tell tim ein this watc at night as it doenst have any glow-in-the-dark paint, so youll have to twitch your wrist a little to get a shimmer of light going. Secondly, this is just a nag, but this watch has only one feature. Telling time. I know that this watch should probably cost more, as it doesnt loose or gain time like many 100$ watches, but I miss my other watches where I can get at least the DATE going. If youre good with your calendar, this should no be an issue, but then again, any mans WATCH should NOT be of only one purpose.

THis watch is gorgeous, and at one point i was staring at it for 15 minutes just watching everything move on the inside. It is self winding as well, so as you move your hand throughout the day; the watch will have juice.

Great entry level automatic+exibition watch. Love the backside too. bought this watch knowing i would cut the strap and turn it into a clasp buckle, but its fine for now. I was not buying this watch for the strap, but for the watch itself. It might look good with a metal band, or any other band you may choose to adjunt it with. IT is buietiful however, and even at 150 it would still be a good buy if its your FIRST automatic/exibition/waterproof watch.
